Swimming in Murky Waters

These past few weeks had been really tough.

You know the saying "not everyday is Christmas"? Well, I felt like I just had Halloween and Holy Week sans Easter. Oh and April Fools *points finger at face*. Celebrated with confetti and fireworks.

And as if being at your lowest point is not enough, the floodgates of quarter life crisis open. You start to hear your clock ticking. You start to feel that everyone has got everything figured out except you. And no matter how much you want to bounce back, you just feel like crawling in a hole.

My good friend Tel told me, sometimes you have to swim in murky waters until you'll want to get out.

I say she's right. With all the crap I went through these weeks, all the bullshit I had to take, and all the bruise on my self-esteem - I say go ahead. Swim in the murky waters, dive if you must.

Swim there all you want. Feed on your own anger. Wallow in self pity. 'Cause when you're suffocating in your own melodrama, when you're starting to get a rash from all the negative vibes you throw at you, only then will you say 'enough'.

And then you'll  come out that slimy ditch, a better, stronger and wiser person. You'll come out of that ditch smiling. :)

Some people will hurt you. Maybe they mean it, maybe they don't. Maybe they're just unhappy with their miserable lives. Maybe they're just hurting as well.  Love is after all, handing out the key to your heart- and a knife to go with it. But they can only hurt you as much as you allow them to.

As for work, it will always be a bitch. So is life. Thing is, life is a bitch to everyone. Find comfort in that.

Count your blessings. Surround yourself with people who care about you, who would whack you in the head, who would make you laugh despite everything. Pray.

Time for a new swim. || Kayangan Lake, Coron Island, Palawan. Said to be the cleanest lake in the Philippines.:)

And when you're done catching your breath, take another plunge- in life. :)
