50 Books

I got inspired by Jiggy Aquino Cruz' yearly personal challenge, 50 Movies which is, well to watch 50 new movies before the year ends (I didn't really need to explain that did I? haha). So I thought of making my own challenge to read 50 new books before 2013 ends.

And since 2013 is a year of goals for me, imma write this challenge down so I won't forget. And for check and balance purposes. :)

Here's the list of books on my wish list. My birthday's still 12 months away but I wouldn't mind getting any of these anytime soon. :))
Fiction:
  1. The Rug Merchant- Meg Mullins
  2. Ali and Nino- Kurban Said
  3. Never Let Me Go- Kazuo Ishiguro (this one's been on my wish list for the past two year, would you believe that? Haha.) - Finally! One beautiful, slashwrist novel.
  4. The Noodle Maker- Mai Jan
  5. Adam Resurrected- Yoram Kanuk
  6. Lolita- Vladimir Nabokov (reading)
Non-fiction:
  1. Six Young Filipino Martyrs
  2. The End of Poverty- Jeffrey Sachs
  3. Juan Ponce Enrile: A Memoir

Whew. That should keep me busy the entire year. I also got this meme before. According to BBC, most people would have read at only six of these books in their lifetime.

I call it the 100 Books You Should Have Read Before You Die to Be Considered a Cultured Being. You can view the list here.

This entry is getting geekier by the second. Haha.

During one of my book hoarding trips in my favorite bargain store, Bookay-Ukay.  Thanks Liway, for the pics.

What's on YOUR reading list this year? :)
