Came home yesterday from a 7-day out of town trip for work. Went to Cagayan de Oro during the weekend for an ocular and immersion in one of our projects for Sendong victims, as well as a shoot for an advocacy story we're producing. Flew to Cebu solo to meet my officemates and fly to Siargao. We're doing a test run on another project we have which is a hush-hush for now.
It was a helluva week. From sleeping in fancy hotels to getting drenched in tents on an uninhabited island to staying in local fishing communities. I never thought I'd be able to try kayaking, climbing out of bat-shit infested caves, swimming in lagoons, building bamboo rafts, eating sea centipedes and manning local fishing boats all in a week's work.:) Not to mention sidetripping to PH's surfing capital to get stoked like F!
Was dead tired when I got back to Manila last night, but geez, it wasn't bad for the first trip this summer.
Despite being deprived of sleep and internet connection for days, the aching muscles, bruises, and the tons of emails and to-do's waiting for me when I get back to work on Tuesday, this trip is definitely worthy of this hurrah: SUMMER's HERE!
Will be writing all about this soon, but for now, here's a glimpse of what we've been up to. Got stuck on this island for almost 5 hours because of low tide, but yeah, we wouldn't really complain. :) Haha.
Paradise, found.:) || Banahaw Island, Del Carmen, Siargao |
Stay tuned for my Siargao adventure post!
